Earthquake Engineers

Can you build a skyscraper strong enough to survive an earthquake?

In this exciting engineering challenge, students will put their design skills to the test as they explore what makes buildings tall, strong, and stable.

After experimenting with tower shapes and testing load-bearing designs, students will take on the ultimate challenge: designing and building an earthquake-proof skyscraper. Their structures must reach impressive heights, support weight, and survive a real shake-table test!

With teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving, students will experience what it’s like to be a real structural engineer.

Awards will be given for tallest, strongest, and most creative designs!

Students Will Take Home:

  • Their tower creations
  • Engineering journal
  • Certificates and awards
