Solar Explorers: From S’mores to Mars

Cook a snack using the sun… then power a rover like NASA! Kids explore solar energy by building a solar oven and a solar-powered Mars rover.

Solar Explorers: From S’mores to Mars

What if you could cook a snack using only the sun… and power a rover like NASA?

In this high-energy session, students will explore two incredible ways we harness solar energy: heat and electricity.

First, students will design and build a working solar oven to harness the sun’s heat (and take home everything they need to make s’mores!). Then, they’ll shift gears and build a solar-powered Mars Rover, learning how solar panels convert sunlight into electricity to power real-world technology.

This session is the perfect mix of science, engineering, and space exploration — all powered by the sun.

Get ready to build, test, and explore like a real solar engineer!

Students Will Take Home:

  • Solar Oven
  • S’mores Kit
  • Solar Powered Mars Rover
